Demo Day Update
In this episode update, Brian T. Frederiksen and Susan K. Worly of the Fence Workers Association give a lively progress report on Demo Days, now about 100 days away. Susan shares that 17 exhibitors are already confirmed, with her 700-row section sold out, and more names continuing to be added. The conversation highlights a growing lineup that includes manufacturers and suppliers such as JC Gury, OneTap Connect, Orlando Hinge Company, Cat 5 Gates, SOL Fence, NW Quick Pull, Father and Son Fence Supply, Expert Professional Woodcare, Fence Armor, ZD, Mr. Fence Tools, Eagle Fence Distributors, Gregory Fence, and others. They also mention ongoing “Five Minutes with Brian” videos that are spotlighting exhibitors and their involvement in the event. The pair emphasize that Demo Days is designed as a true industry event, not just a trade show, with family-friendly activities built into the experience. Planned attractions include fishing ponds stocked with catfish and bass, trike racing for kids and adults, and live demos where attendees can stain wood, assemble gates, install slats, drive posts, and test pulling equipment. Scheduled for March 26–27 near Orlando, the event is positioned as a Thursday-Friday gathering that lets contractors network for two days and then enjoy a long weekend, possibly at Disney World. Sponsorship opportunities for badges, lanyards, tote bags, and more are also opening up soon.

(2,330 words)All right, we're live here with Susan K. Worly, Fence Workers Association. What's going on? Just getting ready for turkey day and getting like super excited about demo days. I think we're like a hundred days away or something crazy like that. It's coming up quick. Hey, um you know, I know we we normally have our meetings. We sit here and we talk about what's going on uh with demo days coming up. So, I'm like, "Okay, why don't we just go uh why don't we just go live?" Yeah. And give everybody the update at the same time, I think. So, uh so far I have 17 exhibitors confirmed for sure. My entire 700 row se sold out. Um we have exhibitors from JC Guri, One Tab Connect, Orlando Hinge Company, Cat Five Gates, SOL Fence. You mean keep going? I've got a list here. Hammer NW Quickpool Father and Son Fence Supply. If people haven't been noticed, we've been uh releasing little five minutes with Brian on demo days of all of our exhibitors. We will be contacting everybody in this list and releasing videos about things going on with their company, um all all their brands and and their involvement in demo days. Like I'm really excited. Expert Professional Woodcare is going to be there. And they got that event going on March. They got an event going on in March. Uh beginning of March as well, uh you know, with with Ashley and Caleb over there. So, I'm excited. We're gonna FW is gonna be out representing that. So, I'll try to get some information out on that one, too. So, that's kind of cool. Yeah. I mean, I just keep I just see the list that keeps growing and growing and growing. But, uh you know, I think a lot of people out there, if you're listening, this is definitely we we we have what do we have like almost daily updates? I'm asking you who who's new, what's going on, what's happening out there. But I don't want to lose the excitement of why this why this event was created in the first place. It was it's probably the very first I mean everybody likes to say family friendly. Family friendly. Well, I mean a bar area is family friendly at the High Tops, right? But I don't know if you'd call that family friendly, but this is the very first event that was built for the actual industry itself. So, uh we're kind of excited. So, it's uh when we say familyfriendly, we mean familyfriendly, right? We're talking about Tell me about this. Tell me again, anybody that's listening for the first time, what are these water? It looks like sunglasses at the top of this thing. Um, is that what that is? Are those Rayban sunglasses or are those water? What is that? Two uh fishing ponds. Uh, one stocked with catfish, one stocked with bass. And apparently there's what, like a a 15 pound bass in one of them. That's crazy. Yeah, I'm taking it. I'm taking it. These are fish that have been pulled out of the pond, right? So, you're saying that besides going around and looking at all these exhibitors and going and seeing the demo arena and checking out all the booths that people or kids, is it for everybody? They're going to be able to actually go fishing at the actual I don't have you ever had an event where you're actually fishing at the expo? No. I love to go fishing. As a matter of fact, you took me out on a boat once and I'm like, "Where are the fishing poles?" You're like, "We don't do that. We We boat." I'm like, "What?" I know. I know. Every once in a while someone wants to bring a some fishing poles out there. Man, we ain't putting a bunch of blood and guts at the back of my boat. It's just not happening. I'm tearing tearing the the boat up. This is for hanging out and drinking beer. Not uh not for blood blood and guts, right? Pond, so that's going to be fun. Um there's also trike racing. So Veronica is dead set on having like adult trike racing and kid trike racing. So, she maybe put that out there as well. So, there's going to be two heats, I guess. One for kids and one for adults. So, is there like a breathalyzer or something they're going to be doing before this thing? Uh, what? I just know I'm going to kick your ass. I don't know, man. My back hurts just sinking thinking about getting on those things. My knees would be up hitting that. Look at Look at this lady's knees. They look like they're hitting that bar up there already. It does. It's just I'm going to be sitting there with my knees out like this like trying to my you know out
Trying to miss those handlebars. I just don't know how that's going to work out. But uh these are pretty big though. So I'm excited to see. So you got that going on. Uh so if you're you're telling me that you're going to be able to go out there, look at these expo booths. You're going to be able to go see just tons and tons of exhibitors. And these are just some of them. There's new ones coming up. At the same time, you're going to be able to go fishing and trike racing. Yeah. At the exact same time as all this, kids and adults in in a two-day event, you will be able to stain some wood. You will be able to put a Cat 5 gate together. You'll be able to throw some slats into some chain link with a slat warehouse. You're going to be able to uh uh drive some posts and then pull them out with an NWP pool and go fishing all in all in two days. So, it's not just the boost. There's actually like an arena being built is what you guys are telling me. This is great because you and Veronica and the team, everybody has been putting this thing together and it's almost I feel like it's your guys' brainchild in a way. Um it's not just, you know, hey, this is what Brian wants. This is what you guys are creating for the whole industry, which is really cool. Love to see it. We we finally balanced the team out by adding Veronica and I get I have somebody to veto you with. So, what if I mean you're gonna This is near Orlando. So, I guess from what I'm hearing it's like a 20 30 minute drive or something from all the Disney resorts or Disney Disneyland Disney World they call it out there, right? Disney World. Much bigger than that little place you have over there in California. Yeah. No, I went to this I don't know, man. I still like the California one, but Disney World was massive. They've got um just tons and tons of other stuff. Epcot and they've got just different I guess they have a bunch of different parks. So, they're just 30 minutes. So, you're saying somebody can stay at the Disney World Resort and then just kind of commute into this thing for 30-minute drive or whatever it's going to be um every day and go to the demo days. Absolutely. Um it's going to be a Thursday and Friday event. So, like we lined it up so that you know you could spend two days at demo days um networking, getting to know more people in the industry, getting to know uh manufacturers and distributors, and then turn around and enjoy a nice long weekend with your family. That's awesome. So, um, the dates again, March. So, it's weather's going to be nice, right? 26th and 27th. I mean, I'm I'm sure there'll be a little bit of rain. It's Florida, right? But, uh, I think they're used to that down there. And we'll have some umbrellas. And I hear you're going to create some demo days. Umbrellas or something. Word on the street. We will have umbrellas. That will be logo demo days. I'm pretty excited. Um, I think that's going to be a really great photo opportunity. But also, just, you know, it's Florida. You have to have one. So, buy you an umbrella, bring it to Disney. Problem solved. So, um, your update. I know we do this, like I said, almost daily. You're giving me an update with new people. And this, this isn't all of them because this was just, uh, a flyer I made based off of some that you guys had a while back. So, uh, on this one, I've got, what is it? Orlando Hinge Company, so um, Soul Fence, which is the solar fencing. We've got Cat 5, CMM, which is the router. Cat 5 is the ones that make the, um, gates kits and stuff for for gates, and they're out of Florida. So, NW quick pull, big shout out to um Kelly and Rowdy. Love those guys. Uh Brian from uh US Hammer's going to be there. We've got I just I think I just introduc I I there's a lot of Brian's around. Uh yeah, just introduced uh actually just did an interview with Brian from Slat Warehouse as well, right? Yes, you did. It was a good one. Yes. Uh telephone entry systems, access controls, expert uh expert stain and seal or expert uh uh products that they're going to have. Professional wood care. Professional wood care. Um fence armor. We love Al, man. Huge supporter. Huge supporter of Al and all that fence armor. Love them. ZD is going to be out there. Sean's bringing his uh You can't have an event without some Mr. Fence
Tools out there as well. So, he's got a booth out there. So, um you've got some other ones. Um this was I know update, so I'm gonna have to update these flyers. Oh, yeah. I've got Eagle Fence Distributors are going to be there. Um I've got Father and St. Father and Son Fence Supply that's going to be there. I got Gregory Fence that's going to be there. Um, OneTap Connect, JC Gury, like I mentioned earlier, it it's going to be a fence event. Yeah, an offense event. And like we said, I think it's the very first uh actual true family. I mean, we'd love to throw those titles out there. This is built for family. Bring your family, but you know, I mean, let's face it, sometimes your spouse or the kids, they're not they're not they don't want to walk around an expo all the time and just listen to us talk about fence. We like to talk about fence, but not all the families. So, to keep the kids busy, um, keep everybody busy. You're going to be able to do some of those some of these activities that are going on on it. Uh, make it make it a weekend trip. I know that's what we're planning. I guess our whole team is going to bust their butt. Did I hear this correctly? So, they can be done uh early enough to uh spend the weekend at Disney World, correct? Yes. Be there or be square. Cool. So, hey everybody. We're going to bring you some more updates on this. Uh, we'll probably I'm going to start I just figure, hey, if we're going to meet up every day, why not tell the world what we're meeting about, right? You guys got some sponsorship packages you just got ready that you're going to be sending out. I heard uh you and Veronica talking about. So, if you're listening and you want to sponsor some some badges, lanyards, tote bags, um whatever else you guys have come up with, um let us know. Uh those are going to go quick the second you you release those. So, if you are listening and you're one of the exhibitors and um you want to get involved in some of the sponsorship stuff that's going on out there, um reach out. How do they reach out to you guys? susanfshow.com is the best way to get a hold of me or you can give me a call or you can call uh FWA Fence Workers Association. Um or you can Facebook message Brian.
